Earthing & Grounding Design for Saudi Industrial Sites

Soil resistivity in the Kingdom often exceeds 1000 Ω·m. Standard grids won't cut it.

Use Wenner four-pin testing across multiple seasons before designing. Then model in CDEGS or ETAP Ground Mat to meet IEEE 80 step/touch limits.

Chemical earth electrodes (GEM-filled) and deep-driven rods can dramatically reduce resistance in rocky terrain. Bond all metallic structures into the same grid.

Re-test grid impedance annually — corrosion and construction can both degrade performance silently.
